Spring Media and ECL AG extend European Cricket partnership

June 15, 2022

Spring Media has extended its cooperation with European Cricket until 2026, including the overall production responsibility of nearly 1500 European Cricket matches per season and the distribution of media rights globally.

“We’re delighted to continue our collaboration with European Cricket and its representatives, Daniel Weston and Roger Feiner as well as everyone attached to the ECN crew,” says Craig Neilson, Commercial Director at Spring Media. “We have seen the vision and growth during the last two years, and together we will continue to bring cricket to Europe.”

Despite the Covid-affected 2020 and 2021 seasons, European Cricket managed to continue its growth by initiating the European Cricket Series (ECS), the European Cricket Championship, the European Cricket League and European Cricket Internationals – domestic T10 events that rapidly raised the promotion, awareness and the eyeball of millions of Cricket lovers globally. As the dedicated production arm, Spring Productions will continue to act as the central hub for some 1500 cricket matches per year scattered across Europe, running from February through December.

As our production teams continue their journeys across Europe throughout the summer, we will prepare for the prestige, 5-week and 120-match cricket festival in Malaga, Spain, starting on September 12 – the much-anticipated 2nd edition of the European Cricket Championships where the England XI will be defending their crown against 20 competing nations and reaching up to 40 million viewers daily,” Neilson adds.

“We are convinced to deliver a continuous quality stream and even higher standards in the upcoming seasons, based on the professional day-to-day cooperation with Spring Productions. The long-term partnership allows both sides to invest more into the equipment and the human resources to remain the state-of-the-art cricket product in Europe. Thanks to the great TV production work, we became the cricketers’ best friend – daily, anytime, and anywhere,” says Roger Feiner, CEO of European Cricket.
